Working in colaboration with Geier Brown Renfrow Architectse, CGLA developed a series of decorative perimeter security measures for the AV Bryan Courthouse in Alexandria, VA. The project balanced these security measures while respecting the local vernacular and aesthetic quality of the Carlyle district.

Careful attention was taken to proivde the required security measures while respecting the historic context and tight urban fabric.
CGLA was the lead landscape architect for the comprehensive master plan for the Walter Reed Medical Campus located in NW Washington, D.C. The master plan focused on redeveloping the historic facility into a potential consulate village for the State Department and looked to incorporate various existing historical features of the campus, expand pedestrian mobility, preserve existing native forest stands and provide a secure environment.

The new truck screening facility at FDA's main campus in Silver Spring, MD, serves both a pragmantic/ security function, as well as a welcoming feature to the campus. The project includes the introduction of new stormwater facilities, preservation of native forest stands, security measures and the introduction of new native vegetation which ties into the rest of the developing campus.
One of our most cherished projects, the Memorial Amphitheater stands adjacent to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. The project included renovations to the Amphitheater's grounds, including new plantings, paths, furniture and lighting, all done with great care to ensure continuity with the historic theater and surroundings.
This high-profile project focused on inventorying the Memorial's planting and providing initial recommendations for maintenance and upkeep. Security concerns such as line of sight and visibility were major components of the study.
The Cannon House Office Building is one of the major facilites that make up the Capitol Campus at the heart of the District. Working closely with a large consultant team lead by Shalom Baranes Associates, CGLA is the lead landscape architect for this massive renovation project. With a focus on balancing preservation with renovation, CGLA's design for the building's grounds respects both the historic fabric of the overal campus while providing inovative solutions to the site.
CGLA provided a perimeter security study for the OPM headquarters in Washington, D.C. As with all of our perimeter security projects, the key component is to balance the security requirements while being respectful to the aesthetic context of the site.
