CGLA, in colaboration with Arrowstreet, provided a new comprehensive master plan for this 50 acre multi-use community. The plan included recreating the proposed street grid to include smaller, more manageable blocks for development, open space and streetscape design, incorporating multi-modal transportation elements such as enhancing the plaza around the existing metro stop and promoting pedestrian and bicycle use, as well as incorporating sustainable measures throughout the design.
Building upon the world-famous Lake Anne Village Center in Reston, VA, CGLA is designing a world-class mixed-use community which will include over 1000 residential units, 100,000 sf of retail and commercial as well as a diverse mix of open spaces, all tied together by a strong pedestrian-friendly and sustainable-focus urban design concept.
CGLA was the lead planning and landscape architecture design form for this exciting developer-lead competition for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's new Financial Bureau offices in Frankfort, KY. The design featured redeveloping four city blocks of desolate 1060's urban renewal-style plaza and office tower. The design focuses on turning the site inside-out, engaging the existing neighborhood fabric and embracing walkability and historic precedence.
This new and unique community is a true "farm to table" concept with its own farming area, food-focused main street and an urban-centric design in Germantown, MD.
